Dreams and Spiritual Consciousness

Communicating with God and dreams and spiritual consciousness are connected. Because sometimes God communicates with us in dreams. Sometimes God gives us messages when we are in deep sleep. This is one of the greatest spiritual gifts we can ever receive. People used to know that. That’s why dream books have been found from ancient Egypt and Mesopotamia. In the very old days people used to try to make sense of the spiritual gifts that came to them at night. They tried to make sense of divine messages. They weren't primitive at all.

But how can communicating with God and dreams and spiritual consciousness take place when our modern minds are never still even at night? Our brains are clogged with an overdose of the stimuli we receive each day through television programs, advertisements, video and DVD movies, conversations on the phone, too much time spent shopping, and too much time spent on the internet surfing. It is no wonder that the many dreams we have every night seem so unintelligible, so unmemorable! They are simply a rerun of the chaotic charges we receive each day. How can we prepare ourselves so that a spiritual gift can be given to us at night? How can we prepare the soil of our minds so that a message from God can take root?
